The Benchline mission

The work is skilled. The path to it should be, too.

Benchline exists to make the supervised-hours path workable for the people who keep the trades moving: apprentices who need a sponsor, licensed craftspeople willing to carry one, and institutions accountable for the outcome.

A field note

Talent is already in the trades. Access is the missing infrastructure.

A willing journeyman or master can be the difference between a stalled apprentice and a counted month of progress. The friction is rarely willingness alone—it is state paperwork, liability, scheduling, and the record that has to survive review.

Benchline puts that operating layer in one place, with the plainspoken discipline the work deserves.

What we are building

A straighter line from a license to a livelihood.

Founding in the trades teaches you quickly that a shortage is not always a shortage of people. Sometimes the person is there, the license is valid, and the need is real— but the handoff between them is too hard to coordinate.

Benchline matches apprentices with willing licensed sponsors, automates the per-state paperwork that makes supervision count, brokers liability coverage for the worksite, and administers stipends so the practical details do not swallow the mission.

Match

The right sponsor, trade, state, and capacity.

Document

A record built for review, not reconstruction.

Protect

Coverage and stipends that keep the handoff whole.

How we operate

Built for the people who have to answer for the outcome.

Institutions need more than a marketplace. They need a clear chain of responsibility, an auditable record, and a partner who understands that every state rule has a person on the other side of it.

01

Match the real constraint

The right sponsor is not just nearby. Benchline matches trade, state eligibility, supervising capacity, and the apprentice’s actual path to counted hours.

02

Make the paperwork legible

State-by-state requirements should be a working system, not an institutional scavenger hunt. We turn rulebooks into repeatable steps and clean records.

03

Keep responsibility visible

Coverage, stipends, supervised hours, and sponsor obligations stay in the same operating picture so every party knows what is true and what comes next.

The proof in the ledger

A network buyers can inspect.

The same aggregate view used by institutional partners, shared publicly: sponsor coverage, matched apprentices, and supervised hours by state. No profiles, no private records—just the operating signal that matters.
